Sunday 4 Feb saw round 3 of the Irish Winter DH League return to Moneyscalp forest in Northern Ireland, the weather was fine, the ground was firm (ish!) and the riders were ripping.
None more so than Team Real Cycles / Commencal, with 3 riders racing and 3 podiums on the day. It don't get much better than that!
Most talked about rider of the day had to be our team rider Steve "Stevo" Beattie and his sideways journey over the infamous step down jump at the end of the course.

No one is quite sure whether Stevo was styling it or getting it just plain sketchy, and the man himself is remaining tight lipped, none the less it got him down the course third fastest, behind Ben Reid and Ger Wolfe. Stevo has been pushing hard for a podium this year and it's a well deserved result.

In Vets Stevie Davidsons unbeaten run ended as he got pushed to second place by Stevie Bell thanks to a fall in the second run, rumours that Stevie took it easy for fear of stacking and scratching his new lid were denied by the big man!

Last up was Karl the teams junior rider who made it to the podium again, this time improving his last race third by taking 2nd behind Ewan Doherty. Karl, who only returned to racing this season after an injury is getting faster and faster, when his new race bike arrives next month he'll be unstoppable.
Out with injuries were senior rider Pete Mcdonagh and team manager and part time racer Steve Baskerville. Pete has been out for nearly an entire season with a long standing back injury, however he is now back on the bike and training hard for the NPS series. Steve is nursing a crack ribbed from a training ride fall and is expected back sometime soon.
On the sponsorship front we're pleased to announce MTB Distribution will be supplying the lads with Nuke Proof Ti springs for their Marzocchi rear shocks. Welcome aboard Irelands most winning team.
